Founder & Director | Flatiron + Virtual in NY, NJ & CT
I’m deeply invested in this work because meaningful change happens through honest conversation, reflection, and an authentic relationship. I bring clinical expertise into the therapy room, along with curiosity, openness, and lived experience. I’ve been in therapy myself, so I understand what it takes to sit in the patient chair and do the work — emotionally, practically, and over time.
I see therapy as a collaborative space where insight and action meet. My role is to offer a thoughtful, grounded perspective while helping you make sense of your own patterns, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels empowering rather than overwhelming.
While relief from distress matters, therapy is about more than just symptom management. It’s about strengthening your ability to understand yourself, respond flexibly to challenges, and feel more connected — to your emotions, your values, and your relationships.
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns that were once adaptive but no longer serve them. Together, we slow things down and look at these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, creating space for clarity and meaningful change.
My work focuses on helping you relate differently to difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences — not by pushing them away, but by building the capacity to engage with them skillfully. Therapy isn’t about eliminating discomfort; it’s about developing resilience, confidence, and choice in how you move through it.
Some patients appreciate structure, tools, and clear strategies; others need room to reflect and explore more deeply. Most benefit from a thoughtful blend of both. We’ll shape the work together based on what’s most supportive for you and where you want to go.
I draw from a range of modalities and tailor treatment to each patient’s needs, including:
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (Object Relations)
Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals and Couples (EFCT)
Gottman Method for Couples
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
My style is collaborative, flexible, and intentional — whether you’re working through past experiences, navigating current challenges, or exploring new directions in your life. Some sessions focus on insight, others on skills or integration; all are guided by your goals and pace.
As a doctoral-level clinician, I bring over ten years of clinical experience working with individuals and couples experiencing internal and interpersonal distress. My training at Stanford, the VA medical system, a community mental health clinic serving asylum seekers and refugees, a perinatal mental health clinic, and in private practice has shaped an approach that balances scientific rigor with warmth, depth, and adaptability.
Prior to transitioning to private practice, I served as a clinical psychologist at The Motherhood Center of NY in their Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) where I worked with birthing parents and their partners through emotional challenges during pregnancy and postpartum. There, I honed my clinical training and specialization in perinatal mental health.

Life is full of surprises, some joyful, some deeply painful, and sometimes it’s a bit of everything. You may feel overwhelmed by life’s demands, such as work, studies, or family responsibilities; you may feel stuck in repeating patterns or relationships; or it has been a struggle to acknowledge what you truly long for.
As a licensed clinical psychologist, I provide psychotherapy in English and Mandarin Chinese. I’m committed to working alongside my clients on this courageous and vulnerable journey of psychotherapy. Together, we’ll work to reconnect with your inner wisdom and authentic self, and empower you to create meaningful changes. With curiosity and empathy, we’ll explore the deeper connections between your current struggles and the needs that lie beneath them.
My therapeutic style is compassionate, interactive, and direct. I listen with openness and without judgment, helping clients not only make sense of their experiences but also develop practical tools to ease emotional distress and foster lasting growth.
